Position: Cheerleading Coach

Reports to: Sports Director

Job Summary:
The Cheerleading Coach is responsible for leading, training, and developing cheerleading squads with a focus on skill development, teamwork, and performance. The coach will design and implement training programs, choreograph routines, and provide guidance and support to enhance the overall performance and well-being of the cheerleading squad.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead cheerleading squads during practices and competitions, providing instruction on technique, choreography, stunting, tumbling, jumps, and dance routines.
2. Develop comprehensive training programs to improve squad members' skills, flexibility, and physical fitness.
3. Create and choreograph age-appropriate routines that showcase the squad's skills and abilities, incorporating innovative and creative elements.
4. Coordinate and schedule regular practice sessions, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
5. Assess squad members' progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
6. Foster a supportive and inclusive team environment, encouraging teamwork, unity, and positive sportsmanship.
7. Supervise squad members during games, competitions, and public performances, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and protocols.
8. Collaborate with other coaches and staff to coordinate team events, fundraisers, tryouts, and community outreach programs.
9. Assist in the recruitment and selection of squad members, evaluating candidates based on their skills, attitude, and commitment.
10. Maintain accurate records of squad members' attendance, performance, and progress, and communicate regularly with parents/guardians.
11. Stay updated on current cheerleading trends, techniques, and safety standards, attending workshops and training sessions as necessary.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field is preferred.
2. Proven experience as a Cheerleading Coach or in a related coaching role.
3. Deep knowledge of cheerleading techniques, stunts, tumbling, jumps, dance, and choreography.
4. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire squad members.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with squad members, parents/guardians, and staff.
6. Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective training programs based on individual and team needs.
7. High level of organization and time management skills to coordinate practices, competitions, and events.
8. Understanding of safety guidelines and protocols related to cheerleading, with the ability to ensure compliance.
9. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel for competitions and events, as required.
